5 dead, 24 injured in Zabul head-on collision

ALAT (Pajhwok): Five people were killed and 24 others wounded in a road accident on the Kabulinfo-icon-Kandahar highway near the Shahr-i-Safa district of southern Zabul province on Monday, the public healthinfo-icon director said.

Dr. Lal Muhammad Tokhi told Pajhwok Afghan News the head-on collision between two passenger coaches occurred at around 11:00 am. Three men, a woman and a child died on the spot.

The wounded, including womeninfo-icon and children, were evacuated to the Qalat Civil Hospital. Four of them were in critical condition, the official said.

Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai, the Zabul police chief, said that traffic police officials had been sent to the area for investigation.
